EHS Graduates of 1965.
This website is dedicated to the EHS class of 65. To those who are no longer in this world it is dedicated to their memory, for they will live forever in our hearts. To those still living it is a reminder of the years that have passed, to the days we remember as “Splendor in the Grass”. This year 2005 will be the 40th year since most of us stood together at the same place in the universe. That day when we went forward to a world filled with promise, to a future which was written with a ? because only God knew the direction of our travels. It is our hope that we would be able to come together again on this 40th year to share moments from our lives and enjoy the pleasure of memories that have lived in our hearts since the day we last stood in the shadow of old EHS.
The date will be May, 28
2005 at Ervinton High School starting at 5:00pm. Details to follow….. make your
plans today.
I have created this website for the purpose of sharing information for our class of 65. If you send information or pictures to me I will publish it on this sit for all to share. I would love to have pictures and a story of the life of each of our members here to be shared. So we can get to know each other again. We are all getting older, most of us are retiring or thinking about retiring. I hope you, as I have often done, have been thinking of those days and those old friends we left behind. We were a small group, 68 or so if I remember correctly. We knew each other as well or better than some of our relatives and most of the friends we know today. Do you wonder how some of those old friends made it in the world? Do you wonder how they compared to the people in big cities and those far away places where they went to earn a living? Do you not wonder if their lives were happy, if they were as lucky as we have been, if they had wonderful families, if their adventures were as great as ours and if life has been good to them? Can you not just close your eyes sometimes and remember what their faces look like when you hear a voice, some music or a laugh that lives in your memory? Can you not look at some old pictures with the clothes, the hair style, the shoes, the dance style, the music and not place one of those old friends in that picture. We were born in one of the most wonderful eras of the past century, we have lived to see a new century come to the age of man. We have seen the rise of man to greater deeds than all of the centuries which have passed combined. It is my fear that we have traded technology for friendship, that we are to busy with our lives to remember old friends. And now that we are older we realize that our friends are dying. I would love to see those old friends, to know them again, before the opportunity is gone and those days are lost, as we reach the end of our rainbow.
